What This Podcast Is About

African, Caribbean, and South Asian communities in the UK face disproportionate health risks — higher rates of cardiovascular disease, maternal mortality, diabetes, and poorer clinical outcomes across almost every specialty.

Yet most health education doesn't speak to these communities. The Educating GP podcast exists to change that.

Every episode is grounded in peer-reviewed evidence — NICE guidelines, NHS data, BMJ and Lancet research — and delivered in plain English by a GP with over 20 years of medical experience, including 8 years in the NHS.

Topics Covered

  • Black maternal mortality & MBRRACE data
  • Sickle cell crisis mismanagement in A&E
  • Type 2 diabetes in South Asian communities
  • Mental Health Act & Black patients
  • AI bias in NHS diagnostic algorithms
  • Long COVID dismissal in ethnic minority patients
  • Eczema presentation in Black children
  • Stroke prevention for Black adults
